Chukyo University is a private comprehensive university located in the heart of Japan, Nagoya. Established in 1954, Chukyo University aims to foster intellectuals with resilience who can think for themselves and act independently. Today the university has two campuses, and it offers 10 undergraduate schools and 9 graduate schools. Since 2020, Chukyo University has opened an English-based undergraduate program. The Global Liberal Studies (GLS) is an interdisciplinary major that helps students acquire the broad skills and knowledge of the social sciences and humanities needed to become independent thinkers, lifelong learners, and responsible global citizens in a rapidly changing world. Students can choose from a wide range of classes from the different concentrations within the School of Global Studies to develop a holistic knowledge of the world’s cultures, philosophies, politics, societies, and religions through different historical periods. The Japanese language education offered is designed to match each student’s language ability.
